Long ago, our world was tethered to another. A mirror of our own that knew only extremes. This mirror was called Eden, and the reflections it cast were called Fey. Over time, Eden’s glass warped and clouded until a barrier formed between these two worlds; this divide between these realities was called the Hedge—a labyrinth constructed of ethereal flora that prevented any human from passing out of their reality and into the Fey’s. Its vine-twisted expanse stretched across time itself. But the Fey know nothing of time. They watched and waited, and never forgot. We forgot.

Now, the Fey traverse this barrier in search of their estranged other halves to punish them for forgetting. They snatch back as many humans as they can out of spite, one person at a time. You are one such trophy.

How long you have lived in the chains of the Fey is uncertain, but you’ve been wise. While no human may enter the Hedge without a meddling Fey, you’ve learned a few tricks of paradox and contradiction that will help you exit.

As you toil, your Keeper leaves you for a moment, and you notice that the glass door you were ordered to clean has somehow been left unlocked. That opportunity is all you need. You run as fast as you can.

Stumbling through the wicked underbrush, you desperately rush through hedgerows in search of freedom.

As you race into uncertainty, however, you must remember that the footsteps of the Huntsman are never far behind . . .

Since being abducted by a Fey one year ago, you have spent most of your time doing chores. Lots of chores. After realizing that the door you are cleaning was left unlocked, you make your escape and try to find your way through the unyielding Hedge—the only way home.

Upon returning, you realize that everyone has forgotten you; not only were you stolen, but so were the memories of you.
